Leaping Hare Recycled Silver Coins

I have adopted this beautiful little necklace from recycled silver coins circa 1880’s. New little set of earrings and necklace based on the timeless connection between the heavens and earth. Once I sketch the design of your little Asterix rabbit onto the coin, I hand-cut and carve it. I use traditional hand saws, chisels and files, in order to give the piece the true English-traditional flare. This process allows me to have a close connection to each piece. Too, this leads to the added bonus of each piece being completely and organically unique.

I handcraft each necklace; you are welcome to select a name or initials to be engraved on the reverse of the rabbit. A silver moon cut from a silver sixpence is hanging beautifully from one side of the necklace and you can choose a matching silver star to hang from the Hairy Growler signature shepherd’s crook catch or a contrasting golden bronze or reddish copper star.

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen).  The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..

Small size : approx 185 mm

Medium size : approx 195 mm

Large size : approx 210 mm (good size if you want a looser dangly medium fit)
