The Silver Birch – first of the Tree symbols

Birch leaf necklace handcrafted using traditional hand tools and techniques. Handmade from a recycled silver Victorian Shilling.

She is the first of the Tree symbols in the true 13 Month Moon calendar. Symbolising new beginnings, the start of a new cycle, ‘year’, stage. Bringing the associated feelings of fertility, hope and promise. This is confirmed in her ever young, vibrant look and sound. As the white goddess of the woods she is the first choice for a Beltane maypole or witches broom for sure. Her connection to the moon is something i’m always noticing when out in the woods or garden at night which I feel is the reason she brings in the first moon month. The monochrome silver moonlight (completely devoid of the colour spectrum!?!- which is interesting in itself) she reflects the wonders and importance of the moon.

The leaves I have created from a recycled silver coin are imbued with these connections and will make beautiful necklace and protection amulet. Each set is lovingly handcrafted to order and a delight to make.
The leaves are available as just the leaves to go on your own special chain, or on a adjustable cotton neckcord (variety of colours), on one of my chains with accompanying star, heart or moon?
Recycled in Cambridge. 100 year old+ Sterling silver coin.

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen). The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..
