Magical leaping lapins
Magical hares and rabbits jewellery – Recycled out of circulation silver Florin two shilling coin
Inspired by my love of hares and the book; Watership Down. These lovely leaping lapin lovelies are escaping from Efrafa and heading towards the curious forest fete.
Each and every Hare is carefully and individually hand cut from within a recycled sterling silver Florin coin. Each and every one i make is made from a coin of the same sterling silver quality and age of over 100 years old. These coins are lovely to use as the silver has a unmistakable feel and texture. The age and history of the silver is also great. Its wonderful to think that the necklace or item of jewellery you are wearing was once a silver coin, used over one hundred years ago, in various transactions, etc. Each coin requires a great deal of time and attention to transform it from an unused, worn coin into a beautiful work of art. All work undertaken is performed with traditional hand tools and techniques. This is an ethical, sustainable approach to wearable jewellery art.
Handcrafted & Recycled in Cambridge.
