Recycled vintage spoon
A lovely little fairy offering a star for those that deserve one. She has been handcut from an old, unwanted and severely neglected dessert spoon salvaged from a local charity shop.
After delicately drawing and cutting the design out from the ‘bowl’ of the spoon, I carefully file and polish the piece. A secure, locking brooch fitting is then fitted on the back.
An integral and interesting part of the brooch is the antique spoon from which it was cut.
This simple ‘donor’ spoon is also given a little ‘Hairy Growler’ treatment. It is transformed in to an wonderful Objects D’ Art which acts a lovely resting place for the brooch when not being worn.
Handmade and recycled in Cambridge.
Size : Approx 42 mm *25 mm

A lovely bit of childhood in silver…
“Catch a falling star, and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day…”
If you can’t catch a falling star yourself, perhaps this little pixie will gift you with one — she’s found a lovely example to share. As a child, I was sure she was real — how lovely to be proven right! 🙂
