This new hairy growler mermaid bracelet is totally handmade from old uncollectible 100 year old coins, primarily florins and shillings. These beautiful coins are unwanted by coin collectors when elements become rubbed and marked.  In most countries these old coins are made out of silver and this was the basis of their ‘face value’, worth.  In the UK coins silver coloured coins minted before 1919 were made from 925 silver, known as sterling silver, an excellent quality silver to transform into jewellery with inherent untold stories, history and ethics.

These coins are a fantastic raw material to use as they have lovely details and history (most being well over 100 years old!). Having the opportunity to re-use them rather than collectors ‘scrapping’ them for the basic silver content is wonderful.  The oyster shell link presents a lovely 18ct gold setting for either a Ruby (shown), Emerald, Diamond, or Sapphire.

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen).  The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..

Extra small : approx 170 mm

Small size : approx 185 mm

Medium size : approx 195 mm

Large size : approx 210 mm (good size if you want a looser dangly medium fit)

XL size approx 225 mm (includes an extra link; i.e. another lovely flower, butterfly, bird, etc section custom made)
