Legendary Ravens.

Raven earrings – handmade and recycled sterling silver shilling coin.

I have recycled these lovely little raven stud type fitting earrings from an English sterling silver shilling coin. Coin collectors in search of aged perfection not want these coins for their collections. The coins I use are marred from wear marks from being used to buy and sell over one hundred years ago. Rather than let them simply be melted down for the silver content, I absolutely love coming up with designs and ideas. Then, I can transform them into a pair of haunting Ravens. By doing this I retain the historical details, simultaneously adding depth, interest and intrigue to the design.

I have individually hand-cut, carved and engraved the pair of Ravens and crescent moon from the silver shilling with a traditional jewellers hand tools. My unusual triplet of earrings allows you to wear a traditional pair or an individual, original asymmetrical variation of Raven and moon. It also means you have a spare in case the worst occurs!

Each set is completely unique, contemporary, ethical and beautiful. I present them complete with a sterling silver ‘off-cut’. This way, I can demonstrate the origins of the ravens, and connect them to their interesting recycled-material history. If you liked these Ravens, why not check out these magical runes?

NECKLACE INFORMATION

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen).  The necklace length you choose includes the length of the actual pendant. Do not worry about the pendant dimensions we will take care of your order. Order the necklace length you would normally wear and the necklace you receive will sit in the perfect position..

Large size : approx 210 mm (good size if you want a looser dangly medium fit)
