Recycled vintage spoon
This wonderful musical birdsong brooch is handcrafted and recycled from old, discarded, unwanted dessert spoon. The spoons themselves are lovely old vintage antiques. However, they are usually single items which have little value to collectors as the original set is lost over the years. Similarly the ‘odd’ pieces of cutlery are of little interest to anyone else in the market for eating utensils. 😉

I have simply drawn the design onto the spoon with a fine nibbed marker pen. This rough sketch is then embellished and used as a approx guide line for my piercing saw work and delicate hand engraving.

Handmade and recycled in Cambridge.

Many of the necklace / pendant designs are complete. These designs have a sterling silver chain attached to the pendant from both sides. This design is perfect for looking in a mirror to fasten the necklace. It also makes a fabulous feature of the handmade hook catch (and star if chosen).
